It is also time to maintain the Star Garden. It has been quite beautiful even with the cold weather. Daffodils, tulips, lenten roses, pansies, and heather have added color. The Carolina Jasmine is covered in buds just ready to pop open. The weeds have also been bursting forth and they do not look nice at all.
Here is my request: Examine the attached garden schedule. If you signed at last meeting, make sure I got it right on the calendar. If you have not signed up yet, choose an available week and then send me an email or call me. Usually two people for a week are all that is needed. But no more than three, please.
What to do in the garden? Weed, water as needed, especially the planters. Do Not Water the Succulent planter! Cut back spent flowers. Do not cut back foliage of daffodils until the leaves die. Any new planting, give extra attention and water. Place all garden debris in brown bags found in our storage bin and when 3/4 full., fold down top and place by the trash receptacle. Do not place garden debris in the trash container. Loosen soil around plants as needed. If a plant or area looks bad, let one of the team members know-likewise, if there is a problem with the water, hose, etc, let us know. This is your garden-if you have suggestions for plant material , garden ornaments, let us know. Keep fresh water in the bird bath. And have fun!
