Our upcoming May garden club meeting will be next Thursday, May 24 at 9 a.m. at the new Port Tobacco River Park at 7685 Chapel Point Rd. in Port Tobacco.
Long ago, when this meeting was scheduled, the planned pavilion was to provide seating for our bag lunches and dessert. As it turns out, now I learn that we will only have 3 picnic tables with seating for about 24. We will still have dessert furnished by Denise Grote and her committee, but because of seating, eating your lunch in the park is now optional. (Sometimes, just eat dessert first!)
I think you will all enjoy seeing our new county park. I have been on many nature walks with our guide, Lynn Wheeler, and she is just amazing in her knowledge of birds and plants.
Finally, Lynn has asked me to get an estimate of how many plan to attend. I am asking you to email me, if you plan to be there on Thursday. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
When I get your email I will enter your name in a drawing for a small nature walk door prize.
Hope to see you on Thursday.
