Below are instructions about how to communicate with your legislator regarding possible cuts in funding of the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
It isn’t difficult to let your voice be heard!
Regards, Anna O'Kelly
The Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) was established in 1964 to conserve irreplaceable lands and improve outdoor recreation. It is supposed to receive $900 million annually to accomplish these goals but is in danger of losing this funding unless Congress votes to renew and fully fund by September 30, 2015; this year. The habitat includes parks, refuges, sanctuaries, beaches, trails, etc. The letter here will go directly to your state legislator and tells them you favor fully funding the LWCF indefinitely. When you enter “audubonaction.org/LWCF” go to the website at the top of the page with the same name. Scroll down from the “Crane” on the right, and fill out the short information section . Then SEND YOUR LETTER; it goes directly to your state legislators. I even got a 'thank you' from mine in Ky.
Thank you if possible for your help. Jim Mullen NGC Land Conservation Chairman
