DII SEMI-ANNUAL MEETING: OCTOBER 13, 2017 - MONARCH MANIA

9/4/2017

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is with great pleasure that I announce the District II Semi-Annual Meeting, Monarch Mania!  We are in for a treat as we fellowship together for the fall season, enjoy hearing about the wonderful activities that have taken place since the spring, enter the world of the Monarch Butterfly with Mike Callahan, and of course, dine together sumptuously.

Please gather your gardening gurus, secure your seats, and let's get ready to celebrate our winged friends before they take their flight back to Mexico.

(The presenter, Mike Callahan, is the same gentleman who spoke to the LPGC at Mt. Aventine. His Monarch Mania presentation sounds just as interesting as his bird talk, and includes the possibility of participating in a monarch tagging and release!)

Thank you in advance for sending one check per club.  This is a tried and true method that keeps our treasurer smiling. (Interested LPGC members should contact Mary Paesch no later than September 22, as she will be sending in the reservation for our club.)

See the attached flyer for additional information.Monarch Butterfly- Author UnknownMajestic wings flutter in the air, over blossoms in the morning gloom. Nodding heads affirm there’s nectar there, as a proboscis probes every bloom. Rays of golden sun paint velvet wings clad in exquisite beams of sunlight, harboring beauty reserved for kings. Bronze pastels are fringed with spots of white, uniquely applied by Nature's brush. Terracotta orange wings take flight, their beauty causing flowers to blush. Each butterfly’s an instant delight, richly ornate and regal in pose. Fragile creatures that have little might, like a breeze they go where the wind blows, yet chase milkweed whenever it grows.
Until then,
Happy Monarching,
Ronda R. Goldman
