Now that summer is upon us with high temperatures and lack of rainfall, watering is crucial. Even with an irrigation system, extra watering is sometimes needed. Pay particular attention to the planters (except for the succulent planter) for dryness. Keep the bird bath supplied with water (we have a resident pair of mocking birds). Other tasks are weeding, dead heading, removing broken stems, fluffing up the mulch around plants. Please water the boxwood at the entrance to the garden. Check for diseases and heavy insect infestation and if noted let me know.
It makes it easier if you talk to others on your team to work out a schedule of days to tend to the garden. That way, the tasks are easier and one person isn’t doing al the work.
Thank you for your willingness to keep our garden a thing of beauty and a peaceful place to spend some time.
One of our committee members will send a reminder when it is your time in the garden and if there are any specific concerns, will alert you of them.
